Love In Motion is a Puerto Rican non-profit organization under Section 501 (c) (3) whose mission is to provide the necessary tools and empowerment through hope and education for the development of community-based tourism in the Caribbean. It was founded in 2017 by the Local Guest Team and born in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
In recent times, Puerto
Rico has been hit by a series of life
changing climate and health catastrophes
that has created a hard economic impact to
our friends in community projects dedicated
to receiving travelers as a means of living.
To help support our peers in the sustainable
community industry we wanted to give support
to local Puerto Rican projects and
organizations in the aftermath of Hurricane
Maria, January 2020 Earthquakes and COVID
Recognizing that vulnerable communities are hit the hardest by climate and health disasters and are far too often left underserved by relief agencies, the Love in Motion Grant was conceived to move resources to grassroots initiatives and community organizations that are part of an infrastructure that has the capacity to fulfill needs over short and long-term.
Our Staff and Governance Committee is made up of people who live in Puerto Rico.
All community projects and organizations based in Puerto Rico dedicated or have initiatives regarding sustainable tourism or sustainable tourism development practices.
deadline: July 3, 2020
Announcement: July 13, 2020
The Grant supports long-term efforts. While we support critical immediate relief needs after COVID 19, moving forward, we are committed to resourcing organizations building sovereignty among communities in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean region.
We have developed a
series of questions that guide our
decision-making process in
grantmaking. This application will
allow us to evaluate the criteria
with which your project complies and
in this way, verify if they qualify
for the grant.
